Rapper Of The Week- Chistopher Wallace

Christopher George Latore Wallace also known as Notorious Big AKA Biggie Smalls AKA The Black Frank White. Is a legend and if you know anything about rap you should know what and who he is to the rap game. He was born on May 21, 1972. In Brooklyn, New York. He was raised in the poor Brooklyn neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant as the son of a preschool teacher. Biggie Dropped out of high school at the age of 17. Biggie became a crack dealer which was his only income at the time. Being a crack dealer he went to North Carolina and got caught and was sent to jail for a 9 month stint. After he was released he made a demo if you will with 4 records on it. This was his big break he was waiting for when Puff (Sean P. Diddy Combs). This demo was why Puff wanted Biggie to sign to Bad Boyz Records. After BIG was signed he realeased his debut solo album "Ready To Die" which went quadruple platinum. BIG became the MC Of the Year (1995)  Soon BIG met a MC from the west that went by the name Tupac Amaru Shakur (meaning shining serpent thankful to god) They became friends. Tupac and Biggie were often supportive of each other. But On November 30, 1994 Tupac was robbed for $40,000 woth of jewelry and shot 5 times when he was in Manhattan. As biggie heard the news he came down but Tupac believed Biggie knew of the event but didnt warn him of it.

Later the country became diveded betwen the "West Side" and the "East Side" which incidently became to be the Death Row Records Verus Bad Boy Records. But BIG and Tupac met again in 1995 with the already heated battle of the coasts. Tupac only intent was to sell records but both were gunned down. Biggie was shot down  a week before his second solo album "Life After Death" in March 7, 1997 in LA by an assassin yet to be found. A year before on September 7, 1996 in Las Vegas. Both legends were shot and both shooters have yet to be found. Many speculate that the government had a role in the killing. Personally believe Mario "Suge" Knight was the master mind behind the killing. Hip hop lost two of the best Lyrical story tellers with this loss but paved new road for peace and room for Hip Hop to flourish what it is today with a few minor short falls.
