Forbidden Fruits and Hidden Truths

Uhm this will be quite in-depth, somewhat vulgar and possibly make you question everything you think you know.
Life Quotes, Life Quotes Images, Life Sayings

Im going back to what made me start my blogs life issues and experiences. So let me break down my key points! The first one being loyalty, the second one being the relationship premise and lastly can you input this ideology into your own life?

Alright I've seen the questionability of loyalty among many people recently. I won't name drop anyone but most of us have asked ourselves the question. "is so and so a true friend?" "Does my boyfriend/girlfriend have my best interests or are they just in it for themselves?" And most importantly "who can I trust?". As the cliche goes it's hard to find good friends! As true as that may be you gotta ask yourself how well you know them before you entrust somebody with your inner most deepest secrets. Don't front like none of y'all don't have any!! Friendships are a delicate balance of discretion, ignorance, and love. Your true friends are willing to protect your credibility as their own. Your true friends will put your best interests in mind when they make a decision. It's redundant to say, but the biggest key to a great friendship is the time to grow together and understand each others faults and strengths and work around them or help them improve. With that being said I'd like to transition into relationships. Bear with me this blog is one of the longest i've written. We all want a great relationship where the people both love each other and genuinely enjoy the company. I guess the term that best defines my next explanation is old-school or chivalrous. I feel the relationships this generation is creating are built upon lust and satisfaction instead of the basics of a good relationship. I guess the acceptance of being a for a lack of better term "hoe" that's perpetuated by social media and music only strengthens my doubts. I strongly believe the best relationships are built on a foundation of trust. With a divorce rate well above fifty percent in the United States you can't give anybody the benefit of the doubt! Secondly the importance of good communication. In any relationship the breaking point is the communication. Whether its planning or a simple disagreement on dinner, learn to compromise!! That's the biggest asset in any relationship, friendship or business!! Compromise so both can still be happy with the outcome and if one person is over controlling then maybe it's time to get out of the relationship. The third key is the spark!! That may sound stupid, but if you don't fell a certain special way and by that I mean an emotional attachment and NOT a physical infatuation then there are holes in your relationship. I understand that no relationship is perfect, but if your in it for the wrong reasons then why complain when it ends up bad because of those reasons? Why else do you think Jerry Springer and Maury still have such popular shows? The lack of evolution impacts how much your actions and maturity affects your life is important to understand. SEX!! Yea I brought it up! Now for most relationships it's a focal point and a necessity. I get it you wanna get your freak on! Word to Missy Elliot! Ha!! Generally for most people sex has or is slowly losing its sanctity. It's more of a casual activity than the intended basis of deep intense passion and an act of Love! That's where the latter generation had it right. That old school soul that went on about makin love now it's just "fuckin'"! How many can say its not? I get it, pleasure is good! I see very few relationships that stand the test of years much less know the true meaning of the word. Love is deep and more than what most people can define. To be honest the definition is each to their own but the quality is definitely lacking. I completely doubt that all the people that are quick to say "I love you" actually can mean it. That's a topic for another time I guess. Like I said I'm old fashioned! I feel its time to wrap it up huh? I've said it over and over again but the most important part of being in an relationship, friendship is your own happiness. You can't pick your family but you can pick the people who you choose to spend time with so why would you want to spend time with somebody who makes your life miserable. To those of you who are reading this and are in relationships ask yourself if you have all of these qualities in your relationship are you at a point to say the words "I love you"? Can you trust this person with your life if you needed to? Can you communicate well with each other? Do y'all argue or compromise? Are you happy with this persons and their life decisions? I'm not saying don't work out your problems every good relationship has their little issues.  Now to flip the script for all the single people!! Everything has purpose and everything has time. Your on your own path. Each of better opportunity. Don't rush anything and in the moment that person walks into your life don't be hesitant to grab hold of them and keep them with you. Be prepared, be happy with yourself so you can share it with others. And if you choose not whatever yo!! Finding loyal people who stay true to you takes time, friendships, relationships, and anything else that involves trust takes time. Enjoy life while you have it. It's a blessing don't curse yourself! I guess thats the end of my rant!

Better Beginnings

Lets kick things off with a Thank You. I've been able to express myself somewhat and every one of you have been a part of it to learn, grow and even get to know me. It's an amazing feat to grasp and still it amazes me that almost 2 years ago I started a simple blog to just talk about of things of rather less importance and now it has become such what it is. There are not even enough words to explain how much I want to thank each and everyone of you individually. I wouldn't be here writing this blog if it wasn't for y'all.

I would like to say i'm learning as you all are. Most of these blogs are just life experiences I've had to go through. Ive just been blessed with great memory and the ability to relay my wisdom. We grow as a people in harmony with our friends, mentors and our peers. This generation that we live in has the capability and the technology to change the entire face of the earth. I'm very peaceful and optimistic about our future as grim as it may seem. I hope my efforts spark a beacon of hope and serenity to want to change the world. Find peace with your foes and lost friends.

To say the least this summer has been more than the usual for most anyone. People got married, had children, relationships were created, other were severed. New friendships were formed and old friendships rekindled. Be grateful for those things we still have. This summer there were two shootings on in Aurora, Colorado and one at the Empire State Building in New York among other tragedies. Those people had no idea that that day would be their last. This summer we've all learned significantly even if it wasn't school related. This school semester or for the rest of this year be more willing to live in the moment. Specifically in college most people are stuck on constructing their future they forget they have their lives right now. Young homie your still a kid enjoy your youth while you still got it. I've grown and learned more than I thought I would and I've understood a multitude of information in a short period of time. High school, college, graduate school whatever your in it starts this week. Take a moment to realize how far you've gotten. We forget to think about our accomplishments after a while. We feel they lack luster but if you think about it those accomplishments are products of your hard work. Enjoy your life please, do something crazy( I don't condone stupidity but hey your life) do something for others even if its a simple compliment or a flower. I hope this semester is a doorway to your dreams for you new freshmen, a journey you still have the strength to travel for those experienced in school, and enlightenment for those who feel are losing their way. Its not what you can get or make its making the most of what you have. I hope you all a safe start to the school year, an enjoyable experience and blessed new friendships, relationships, journey and travels.

Id like to end with this... R.I.P. Aaliyah Dana Haughton ( January 16, 1979 - August 25, 2001)

Save A Life: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

It's always a pleasure to work with like-minded people. The fruits of that labor is always a special one. Sarah and I had planned this a few months back and we decided we would link up again and give y'all something else to get into and become a part of.

First off I want to thank Stebin for being patient with me on my journey of creating this blog. The reason we are working together again is for a extremely special cause! This cause is so special and dear to me. It's important everyone knows more about it. This cause being St.Jude and Up 'til Dawn Event. After my visit to Memphis, Tennessee; the headquarters of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital it opened my eyes and inspired me and motivated me in so many ways. This past weekend I was privilegedto visit the hospital, tour the hospital grounds, and visit with those who have been a victimized by cancer as a young child. For those of you who don't know,St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is one of the very few hospitals where no child who is diagnosed with any type of cancer is turned away due to in ability to pay. Families who have no insurance or can't afford paying for cancer treatments/test etc. still get the best care for their child. This hospital isn't just a last resort for financially troubled families. This is a hospital with amazing physicians, surgeons, doctors, researchers, and miracle workers who promise to help put an end to Cancer. The best medical workers oftheir kind be it general physicians, surgeons, nurses, or even social workers come to work for this hospital because they don't see helping these children as their job, but as their passion.
During my visit I heard a doctor say that she would work for St. Jude for free full time if it came down to it. As aparent I'm sure it's beyond devastating to hear that your child has been diagnosed with cancer. As a child I can't even imagine what they are going through. Any child that walks through the St. Jude hospital doors of St. Jude receives the best medical care. Those who work at St. Jude not only care for the children’s physical well being, but also their mental well being. They aren't just treated, they are cared for, they become a part of a family network. The benefits that St. Jude's hospital provides is phenomenal If a family needs to be flown into Memphis for immediate medical attention, St. Jude takes care of it. If they need housing during their child's month long treatments, St. Jude covers it.
St. Jude doesn't pay for these costs by themselves... The money St. Jude uses to help these kids survive cancer comes from people and companies all over the globe. It costs 1.8 MILLION dollars PERDAY to keep the hospital running. With donations, sponsors and College Organizations like Up 'til Dawn, these families who can't afford their child's treatment don't have to worry about the endless amount of medical bills. Sometimes it can cost over $500,000 by the time a child is fully cured of cancer. It is because of St. Jude that  the parents and children themselves  are able to focus just on getting better, instead of how they're going to pay off hospital bills or even the rising cost of chemotherapy. Watch the next couple of videos and understand how much St. Jude helps these children and their families.

As the 2012 Co-Director of Up 'til Dawn at UTSA, I solely work on ways to make our UTD event a success so another life can be saved. Up 'til Dawn calls for students throughout the entire campus to come together and send letters to their loved ones asking to help save a life. After the short letter writing event, the food and fun begins in celebration to their contribution in saving lives. This year it is our goal as an executive board to help raise over $25,000 to St. Jude. It requires hardwork, dedication and passion for the cause to make this event a success. Lots of time, talent, resources, money and many other donations are needed to make this event possible. With no original funds given to the group on Campus, every year the organization goes out and asks for help in hopes of closing the doors of St. Jude and eliminating childhood cancer for good! Are you willing to stand by when countless children are battling this disease? Unite as one and join thefight against cancer! Count your blessings. If everyone that reads this blog donates even twenty or even fifty dollars to this cause that’s one step closer to finding the cure. Help give those children their life back and invest in your own future. Help St. Jude Research Hospital and Donate to Up 'til Dawn2012 at UTSA.
